Ask Missy: How to Incorporate Philanthropy Into Our Wedding

Hello Beauties

I have the latest installment of Ask Missy today.  It is a question regarding something that is close to my heart- Philanthropy!  Please feel free to send in your questions to MLMWorldwideLLC [at] gmail [dot] com.  I love hearing from you guys and hopefully help with any issues you are running into.

Hello Missy,

I am getting married on the weekend of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and I wanted to honor his commitment to community service.  My grandparents and my fiance’s grandparents were leaders in their communities during the civil rights movement so philanthropy and community service has always been a big part of our lives.  Do you have any ideas on how to subtly incorporate Dr. King’s ideals into our special day?

Sincerely, Committed to our Community

Hi Committed!!

It is so wonderful to hear that you and your future husband  give back to your communities.  I love  volunteering and believe it is necessary to keep our communities moving in a positive direction.  One of the most common ways people incorporate the causes that mean the most to them is to make a donation in honor of your wedding day and you can then add a note to each place setting letting your guests know.   Another creative way to incorporate Dr. King into your wedding day is to have his most poignant quotes framed in different areas of your reception, such as on the favor table, on guests tables, in the restroom or near the guest book.  Also, if there is still time to plan, you can invite your bridal party to volunteer with you at your favorite organization prior to the wedding day.  It would be an amazing bonding experience to treasure with your closest friends and family.

xo, Missy
