This past Sunday night was The Cream Event, hosted by the amazing duo of Bash,Please. The event was a showcase of the best in the wedding business, everything from floral designers, event planners, rental companies, photographers, blogs, caterers, entertainment to anything else you could think of. My amazing bosses knew how much I wanted to go and offered up their tickets on Sunday afternoon, which led me to bunny hop around my bedroom for 20 minutes before getting ready!
The event took place at the Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles, which is an old church that is now used for all different types of special events. There is a grand entry way, gold tiled ceilings, giant arched columns in the main room and a gorgeous garden.
Walking in, you were greeted by 100 Layer Cake and their beautiful display. They had green sequins covering the table with back and white stripe details, plus gorgeous pink and white flowers. A little past their display was the Be Inspired girls. They are so sweet and were giving out the prettiest little bottle of Essie nail polish. Finally, a Braid Bar was set up, courtesy of Braids by Brislin, in the back corner of the foyer and the line was a mile long but the girls were leaving with the most adorable hair-dos.
From there, you would enter the main ball room and to your right was Urbanic (a stationery store in Venice Beach) and to your left was Pitbull & Posies ( graphic design/ general awesomeness creator). I met Amber from Pitbull & Posies for the first time that night and she was so sweet and welcoming as I gushed about the amazing pieces she created for the baby shower I attended the day before.
Next it was time to walk through the Found Rentals display and whoa! it was a show stopper. They had small seating areas of velvet, vintage couches, piled high with super comfy pillows, side tables with beautiful vintage items, such as books and bell jars and flower arrangements bursting with lush greens. Then you walk through a doorway made of reclaimed lumber into another seating area just as fabulous as the last. They had nesting tables piled high on one side that looked like an amazing art sculpture.
Ok, so the night starts out fab and then only gets more fab when we realize there is an open bar! One Hope donated the bottles of wine plus, there were different specialty cocktails at each bar around the room. I loved the pink lemonade and gin concoction and the cucumber mojito type drink on the patio.
Going around the space, we talked with photographers, took pictures of amazing table displays and tasted the yummiest appetizers. Then, we headed outside for a breath of fresh air to be greeted by an awesome “Great Gatsby-esq” band. The jazz band was an ensemble from Elan Artists and I would die to have them at a garden brunch affair.
The evening ended with the dance floor packed and glitter falling from the sky. I’m not sure who won the dance contest but I do know the competition was fierce! The evening was so much fun and an overload of design inspiration. I cannot wait until the next Cream Event and I hope everyone gets their tickets early because it will sell out!
